Police Kill Man After Day-Care Center Attack
Police shot and killed a man after he walked into a day-care center in downtown Madison and attacked a worker with a knife.
The man entered Red Caboose Day Care Center about 9 a.m. and got into a fight with a worker. Police arrived within minutes and confronted him.
No children were hurt, but the employee suffered multiple cuts and was taken to a hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The assailant was not identified, and police said his motive remained unclear.
Assistant Police Chief Noble Wray declined to elaborate on the shooting.
