Double Time for Frankel?

Winning both Grade I races -- the $500,000 Diana and $250,000 Test -- on today’s card at Saratoga wouldn’t be a first for trainer Bobby Frankel.

In 2002, Frankel won the Diana with Tates Creek, then took the Test with You.

Frankel will try for another double today when he sends out Intercontinental in the Diana and Reforest in the Test.

Intercontinental is unbeaten in three races in this country, but the Diana, which goes at 1 1/8 miles on the turf, will mark her first start beyond 1 1/16 miles. In the seven-furlong Test, Reforest will be a longshot against a field that includes Society Selection, Dazzle Me, who has won four of five for trainer Steve Asmussen, Forest Magic and Friendly Michelle.

Race of the day: One race after Och Tamale, his half-brother, runs 1 1/16 miles on the dirt, Buddy Gil will try the turf for the first time in well over a year in the $75,000 Wickerr Handicap today at Del Mar. Both races are part of a pick six with a carry-over of $146,530.

One for the road: Society Selection, who will race on Lasix after bleeding in a poor try in the Mother Goose, will get a lot of pace to run at in the Test and could be along in time.

Exotically speaking: A pick three using She’s Salty in the first, Arbiter, Hecandigit and Eye Pea Oh in the second and Cadillac Cruiser, Cash In The Bank and Cashmula in the third.
