From Times Staff Reports
Sparks from a passing train ignited several spot fires Friday that damaged storage buildings and cars near an Anaheim rail line, witnesses said.
Fire authorities had no official cause for the blaze just off the Santa Ana Freeway at Lincoln Avenue and Loara Street, said MetroNet spokesman Gary Gionet.
No one was injured and the fire was out in less than 30 minutes.
Larry Henry, who owns one of the burned properties, said fires from sparking trains occur every year because of dry brush around the tracks.
