Riordan’s Remark
Regarding the comment from state Education Secretary Richard Riordan to the child whose name meant Egyptian goddess (“Riordan Apologizes for Joking With Child,” July 6): The governor should fire him.
Anyone, especially someone in education, who would thoughtlessly say something demeaning to a child should have his head examined. Apology notwithstanding, I’m sure that child’s feelings will be hurt for a long time to come.
Open mouth, insert foot, Secretary Riordan!
