Teacher Sentenced in Child Molestation Case

A former Folsom elementary school teacher has been sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in prison after pleading guilty in a child molestation case involving 40 victims.
Scott E. Gmitter, 34, was a fourth-grade teacher at Empire Oaks Elementary School until his arrest Nov. 27. He pleaded guilty in April to four counts of child exploitation and three counts of child pornography. He admitted taking obscene photographs of girls younger than 12, friends of his daughters.
