71 Years Is Temporary?

Chris Knox (letter, Jan. 23) asks if anyone remembers when our sales tax was 6%. There are some of us who remember that the California sales tax was put on the books in 1933 as a temporary measure, and it was only 2%. Obviously, it wasn’t temporary and has increased considerably.
