Minimum Age for Driving Permit Goes Up

Teenagers will have to wait until they are 15 1/2 years old to apply for an instruction driving permit in California, under a new law that took effect Thursday. In addition to raising the minimum age from 15, the law requires classroom driver training to be completed before students are issued a permit to drive.
