The United States has paid the bulk of $30 million in reward money to an informant who led U.S. troops to the sons of deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, the State Department said. Brothers Uday and Qusai Hussein were killed in July by U.S. troops at a home in Mosul.

The tipster, who was not identified, and his or her family have been relocated. Neighbors of homeowner Sheik Nawaf Zaidan believe he tipped off U.S. forces.
