O.C. holiday closures
Friday is New Year’s Eve and Saturday is New Year’s Day. The following schedule will be in effect in observance of the holiday:
Mail: There will be no delivery, and post offices will be closed Saturday. Operations on Friday will not be affected.
Schools: Public schools will be closed both days.
Public transportation: On Saturday, Metrolink trains will run on a special schedule; information: (800) 371-LINK. Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a Sunday schedule Saturday.
Libraries: Most will be closed Saturday; check with your local branch for Friday hours.
Banks: Most will be closed Saturday, and many will have shortened hours Friday; check with your branch.
Trash collection: Pick-up schedules won’t be affected.
Government: City, county and federal offices and courts will be closed Saturday; many city offices will also be closed Friday, so check with your city hall.
