Talks With India End on Upbeat Note

Top Foreign Ministry officials from Pakistan and India concluded two days of meetings in Islamabad on their dispute over the Kashmir region.
The foreign secretaries of the two South Asian nuclear-armed rivals agreed to continue a wide-ranging peace process.
“I go back with a sense of optimism,†Indian Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran told reporters afterward.
“It’s still too early [to say] that the gaps cannot be narrowed,†his Pakistani counterpart, Riaz Khokhar, said in a separate news conference.
