“The School for Scandal,” Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s classic comedy of manners, skewers the affectations and pretensions of aristocrats in 18th century London. Veteran British actor Brian Bedford, who directs, plays harried older husband Sir Peter Teazle, whose country-bred young wife is led astray by the scandal-mongering fashionable set led by the scheming, aptly named Lady Sneerwell.
