Council Moves to Ban Furniture on Beaches
From Times Wire Reports
A City Council committee has approved a series of ordinances, including one that would prevent people from bringing couches, dining tables, refrigerators and other household furniture onto city beaches.
The bans were drafted by the Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee in response to problems encountered during the Fourth of July holiday but would be in effect all year.
Other ordinances would ban the use of ropes, tents and other barriers to reserve areas of the beach, and would impose a ban on fire rings between midnight and 6 a.m.
