Efforts to preserve the historic 600-acre Thunder Canyon Farm may have failed.
Preservationists couldn’t come up with the April payment to keep the deal alive, so the dairy farm’s owner will sell the property to the highest bidder, said Ilona Ing, who headed the preservation effort.
Organizers had hoped to raise $3.6 million to purchase the farm. They raised about $400,000, putting $100,000 down and the rest going toward monthly lease payments.
