Durable Goods Orders Rise 3.4% in March

Orders to factories for costly manufactured goods such as cars and machinery rose by a strong 3.4% in March, offering fresh evidence that the U.S. economic recovery was bounding ahead.
The increase in durable-goods orders came after a 3.8% gain in February, the Commerce Department reported.
