Officers Angered by Death Penalty Decision
- Share via
Several San Francisco police officers are circulating a petition challenging their union to denounce Dist. Atty. Kamala Harris’ decision not to seek the death penalty in the killing of Officer Isaac Espinoza.
David Hill is accused of fatally shooting Espinoza on April 10.
“What we want is that David Hill face the most severe punishment offered under the law of the state of California, that being the death penalty,” the petition says.
The officers are angered by the fact that their union president, Gary Delagnes, was standing beside Harris at last week’s news conference where she announced her decision.
