RE “Party Arty All Night,” by Diane Haithman and Mark Ehrman, Sept. 20: The article quotes a young parent who came to the free event at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art because the cost to attend the current show is prohibitive for a family.
LACMA receives millions of dollars in taxpayer funds from the county each year and has free admission to the permanent collection only on the second Tuesday of each month. The Brooklyn Museum receives less municipal funding and yet manages to provide free admission to its collection (donation requested) at all times.
