From Times Wire Reports
Guinea-Bissau’s military leaders named businessman Henrique Rosa to take over as interim president and lead the impoverished former Portuguese colony to elections.
Just over a week after ousting President Koumba Yala in a bloodless coup, the military also appointed Antonio Artur Sanha as prime minister of a transition government.
Rosa will take over from coup leader Gen. Verissimo Correia Seabra, who had declared himself interim president after the putsch. No date was announced for the hand-over or for elections.
