FDA Urges Cautious Use of Hormone Therapy
From Times Wire Reports
In an effort to offer clear advice about hormone therapy to worried menopausal women, the Food and Drug Administration launched a national education campaign supporting widespread, if more cautious, use of the controversial drugs.
The initiative emphasizes the increased risks to women, including higher rates of breast cancer, blood clots and heart disease. However, it also tries to put those risks into a context that some believe was lost during the publicity surrounding the more negative findings of the last year.
