Plane Crashes, Killing All 22 People Aboard
From Times Wire Reports
A Soviet-made plane crashed in central Congo, killing all 22 people aboard, a Congolese government spokesman said.
The Antonov 26 went down just after takeoff from the city of Boende, about 500 miles northeast of the capital, Kinshasa.
Government officials said they did not know whether the aircraft was carrying members of the military or civilians.
It was the second transportation tragedy in a week in Congo. A boat collision on a western lake killed more than 180 people and left scores missing.
