Boeing Co. said it would offer three versions of the 7E7 “Dreamliner” if it decided to go forward with the jetliner program.
The aircraft maker will add a short-range variant of the 7E7 with a range of 3,500 miles. Boeing previously said it would have a base model with a range of 7,800 miles and a stretch version capable of flying 8,300 miles.
Boeing is counting on the 7E7, which will carry 200 to 300 passengers, to take back market share from rival Airbus. Boeing shares rose 42 cents to $38.91 on the New York Stock Exchange.
