CBS might have finished the season and the May ratings sweeps as the most-watched network in prime time, but most other races went to NBC, which continued to enjoy sizable victory margins with its late-night, morning and Sunday-morning discussion shows.

Final Nielsen data issued Friday showed that “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno†averaged 5.8 million viewers per night for the season that began in September, equaling its advantage over CBS’ “Late Show With David Letterman†(4.1 million) from the year before.

“Today†also continued to dominate the morning competition, averaging 6.2 million viewers in May, versus 4.8 million and 2.7 million on average watching ABC’s “Good Morning America†and CBS’ “The Early Show,†respectively.
