A psychiatrist attending the national meeting of the American Psychiatric Assn. has been hospitalized for injuries she received during an alleged assault by a homeless man who police say has a history of mental problems.
Dr. Geetha Jayaram, an associate professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, was walking with her husband near Union Square Sunday when she was attacked.
