DWP Considers Raising Residential Water Rates

Residential water rates may be raised in the next year to pay for improving water quality, city officials said Friday.
The Department of Water and Power told a City Council panel that the costs of making sure water is safe are rising. The DWP may consider increasing the water quality surcharge, which is about $3 a month. Officials did not say what the possible increase would be.
