2000 Nalle Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
Doug Nalle marches to a different drummer. Instead of the inky, alcoholic fruit bombs now in fashion, he makes elegant Zinfandels that have more in common with Pinot Noir than Port. His Zinfandels from Sonoma’s renowned Dry Creek Valley also are tremendously food-friendly. Smooth and polished with hints of cherry and spice, the 2000 is a terrific example of his lovely, idiosyncratic style. There still might be some 1999s around too. Both vintages are top-notch and perfect for summer drinking.
