New Jersey Net reserve forward Aaron Williams left the Detroit area for personal reasons Monday and might sit out Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.
Williams did not attend a morning practice. Coach Byron Scott said he did not know whether Williams would return in time for tonight’s game against the Detroit Pistons.
Williams scored four points in 20 minutes in New Jersey’s 76-74 victory in Game 1 on Sunday.
If Williams doesn’t play, Dikembe Mutombo could see his first substantial playing time of the playoffs. Mutombo has played only 33 minutes.
