Gay Police Chief Finds Community Tolerant
This town’s police chief says not much has changed in the months since he announced that he is gay.
Ron Forsythe, for nine years the chief of the department in the bedroom community between the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento, said most of the public comments and private correspondence have supported his decision.
What’s more, Forsythe no longer has to leave Solano County to go out with his partner.
“I would describe [Solano residents] as quietly tolerant,†Forsythe told the Fairfield Daily Republic. “But I don’t think Solano County is ready for a gay pride parade.â€
