Schedule Will Change if BYU Wins Twice
INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA will switch the dates of the Midwest and South regional games if Brigham Young advances to the round of 16.
BYU has a long-standing policy of not playing games on Sunday. The school, located in Provo, Utah, is owned by the Mormon church. The switch would be necessary only if the Cougars win two games and advance to the semifinals of the South region.
BYU begins play in the tournament Thursday against Connecticut in Spokane, Wash. The winner plays either Stanford or San Diego on Saturday.
If BYU wins both those games, the South region would switch its semifinal dates with the Midwest. The South would play March 27 and 29, Thursday-Saturday, while the Midwest would play March 28 and 30.
