Kirch Hopes to Sign Saban Deal Soon

Insolvent German media group KirchMedia said it hoped to sign a deal to sell its television assets to U.S. billionaire Haim Saban by Monday, ending a yearlong auction.
Saban is in Germany to help put the final touches on a $2.2-billion deal that would open the country’s media industry to a Hollywood figure -- teamed up with French TV group TF1 -- for the first time.
