Body Is Found in 1 of 4 Midwest Disappearances
MINNEAPOLIS — A University of Minnesota student, among several college-age people who disappeared in the fall in Minnesota and Wisconsin, was found dead in the Mississippi River.
The medical examiner’s office said Friday it was too soon to tell how 21-year-old Christopher Jenkins died.
Jenkins, who disappeared Halloween night, was one of four people -- three men and a woman -- who vanished within 170 miles of one another, all after leaving a bar or a party. Relatives speculated the cases might be linked, but authorities said they doubt any such theory. A private investigator hired by the family said Jenkins’ father and mother were distraught at the news. “He’s just destroyed, and his wife is worse. She’s torn in half,†investigator Chuck Loesch said. “Now they know where their son is, but they don’t know how he got there.â€
The three still missing include Michael Noll, 22; Joshua Guimond, 20; and Erika Dalquist, 21.
