Van Flees After Striking 2 Teens in Tustin Street
California Highway Patrol officers are searching for the driver of a white van that struck two 14-year-olds in a Tustin crosswalk Saturday evening and then fled.The teens, a boy from Santa Ana and a girl from Orange, suffered major injuries and were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Their conditions were not available Saturday night.
They were eastbound in a marked crosswalk at Holt and Vanderlip avenues about 6:15 p.m. when they were hit by the van, said Mike Sheldon, a CHP dispatcher.
The van is possibly an import, with a missing right mirror and damage to the right front or front center. The van may also have broken headlights.
