Two people were killed Monday in separate traffic accidents in Ventura County, authorities said.

A 32-year-old Oxnard man, who was not immediately identified, was killed when the Ford Escort he was riding in was rear-ended by another vehicle about 11:30 a.m., according to Officer Randy Latimer. Three other occupants of the vehicle were transported to area hospitals and treated for various injuries.

The Ford Escort was westbound on 5th Street near Rose Avenue in Oxnard and attempting to make a left turn when it was struck from behind by a truck driven by Javier Diaz, 31, of Southgate, authorities said.
