Irresponsible Judges Are at Fault in Killing
Re “Man Freed Amid Court Backlog Is Murder Suspect,†July 26: I sincerely hope that the voters remember the names of Los Angeles Superior Court judges Dan T. Oki, David S. Wesley and Carol H. Rehm when they next come up for election. These judges refused to stay past 4:30 p.m. to hear arraignment arguments for many dangerous suspects. Subsequently, all of those charged were required to be released; several of them never returned the next day, as they were instructed. One of the men charged is now suspected of killing a 22-year-old man and is being sought.
These judges, who are elected, failed to perform their duties, which caused a young man to lose his life. Let’s hope the irresponsibility of these three judges will be remembered at the polls.
