Re “Why Stay in a Place of Fear? It’s Home,†Commentary, July 11: Hebron’s Jewish community is accurately described by David Wilder. The Ottoman census of 1895 showed 1,500 Jews in Hebron. Jews had been constant residents for hundreds of years until the massacre of 1929.
