Supremacist Leader Accused of Murder Plot

CHICAGO — The head of a fast-growing white supremacist “church” was charged Wednesday with trying to hire someone to murder a federal judge who had ruled against him in a lawsuit.
Matthew Hale, 31, who calls himself “pontifex maximus” of the World Church of the Creator, was arrested on charges of trying to solicit someone to murder U.S. District Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow from Nov. 29 to Dec. 17, and with obstructing justice in connection to the lawsuit.
Hale’s “church” has been cited by the Anti-Defamation League as one of the past decade’s fastest-growing hate groups, especially among white prison inmates. Hale’s group describes Jews, blacks and other minorities as “subhuman,” and deems them natural enemies of the white race, which it calls the source of all civilization.
