CVS Corp. agreed to pay $1.1 million to 18 states and Washington, D.C., to settle allegations it submitted false prescription claims.
CVS was accused of dispensing partial prescriptions because of insufficient stock, while billing government health insurance programs for the full quantities prescribed.

Shares of Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS rose 48 cents to $25.43 on the NYSE.
