Public Warned to Avoid Contaminated Water

Ventura County officials are warning the public to avoid contact with sewage-contaminated water in a Port Hueneme flood-control channel.
The county’s Environmental Health Division has posted warning signs along the channel at Bard Road and Park Avenue in Richard Bard Bubbling Springs Park.
Officials are still trying to determine the source of an ongoing release of sewage into the channel. The discharge was discovered Feb. 5.
