President Reportedly Invites Sharon to Talks
From Times Wire Reports
After avoiding meeting with Ariel Sharon for more than two years, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has reportedly invited the Israeli prime minister to talks at Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheik.
Mubarak, according to the newspaper Al Gomhouriya, said it was time to deal with Sharon “in a new way†in the wake of the Israeli leader’s recent reelection, even though Mideast violence continues.
Sharon spokesman Raanan Gissin declined to comment; Egyptian officials wouldn’t either.
