Teaching Assistants Set to Strike at UC
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The union representing graduate student teaching assistants, readers and tutors throughout the University of California has announced an open-ended strike beginning Thursday over what it describes as unfair bargaining practices by the university.
If not resolved, the strike could bump up against final exams at UC’s eight undergraduate campuses, which are scheduled before the Christmas break.
UC officials said the university has negotiated in good faith.
