Three small earthquakes centered near Valencia shook parts of Los Angeles County late Tuesday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
A magnitude-2.6 temblor occurred at 11:01 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered about five miles west of Valencia.
A minute later, a 3.8-quake struck at the same site, the agency said.
The third quake, again a minute later, was centered about six miles west of Valencia.
“Some people felt something and some people didn’t,” said Lt. Tom Bryski, of the Los Angeles County sheriff’s station in Santa Clarita. “We only got one phone call about it, so it didn’t hit very hard. It was a real quick jolt.”
