Voters to the Pundits: Wait for the Real Thing
- Share via
The best postelection article was “Looking to History, Pundits Never Saw This One Coming” (Nov. 7), on the failures of polling in this election. I’ve always wondered why we bothered to hold elections if the polling was so accurate. Think of the money we could save!
I’m also fascinated to discover a good side to the annoying dinnertime telephone calls of the telemarketers: They’ve succeeded in making us respondents cranky and less likely to talk to pollsters. Imagine, we might have to wait to find out who really won an election when they count the votes. Will TV news ever recover? Film at 11.
