If Steve Lopez (“All Alone at the Marble Altar,” Nov. 1) could see beyond his personal vendetta against Cardinal Roger Mahony, he might see the real issue surrounding the diocese staff cuts. The problem could be solved and the staff rehired if every Catholic in the archdiocese of L.A. gave an extra $1.50. Catholics need to financially support their church and quit blaming the cardinal for balancing the budget.
