From Times staff reports

The inspector general of Los Angeles schools is investigating whether school staff initiated student walkouts earlier this month at two campuses, which resulted in the principal of Marshall High School being pushed to the ground and suffering broken bones.

Supt. Roy Romer requested the investigation on June 12, the day after Marshall Principal Tom Abraham broke his collarbone and wrist as he attempted to stop the walkout.

Students from Marshall and Bell High School were protesting budget cuts that will increase class sizes.
