Unfounded Constitution
“High Court Backs Forced Confessions†(June 11) is depressing. Only hypocrites refer to that 1787 document called the Constitution of the United States as having any meaning. The executive, legislative and judicial branches of government twist it as fits their special needs.
The 1787 framers constructed a document that applied to everybody. They erroneously assumed that those elected to office would be persons of ethics--not the trash we now have. Impeachment was the tool to keep departments in line. If public officials in Washington were impeached for violating the 1787 Constitution there would be nobody left.
