Police said Thursday that they have arrested two young men who may be connected to a string of robberies targeting downtown parking lot attendants.

The suspects were arrested about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, shortly after they allegedly confronted an attendant at 1355 S. Flower St. and took his money and cell phone, police said.

“Based on their overall appearance and MO, we feel we probably have the right guys,†said Lt. Andy Monsue of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division.

Monsue was referring to a series of similar robberies over the last three weeks. In each incident attendants have been approached, threatened and robbed of money and personal items by two men.

The suspects, a 17-year-old and 18-year-old, were arrested after patrol officers who had been alerted to the robberies saw them leaving a parking structure.

They each will be charged with one count of robbery, the lieutenant said.

“If they get identified by other victims, we’ll ask [the district attorney] to file additional counts,†Monsue said.
