Davis See Taxpayers as Beasts of Burden
Re “Prison Guards’ Sick Leave Usage Soars as Rules Shift,†June 27:
What difference does $680 million make to Gov. Gray Davis, who sees himself as lord of all California? Sitting atop his bureaucracy, he passes down tax burdens to the California taxpayer. He squeezes the hard-working and conscientious to fuel his unending lust for money, money and more money. He looks on taxpayers as beasts of burden whose sole role is to provide him with a political future.
Let us raise the ladders, storm the castle, lower the drawbridge of privilege and show his Lordship Gray Davis the moat.
