Baseball Proposals to Be Considered
Two baseball proposals are expected to highlight today’s Southern Section council meeting at The Grand in Long Beach.
The council will vote whether to expand the number of allowable games to 30 from 20 and whether to allow each league to decide upon use of the 10-run mercy rule.
The council also will continue to discuss a statewide proposal that aims to curb the rise in transfers for athletic purposes by requiring school officials to certify that no one connected with booster clubs or athletic departments had contact with prospective transfers.
