A police report was filed Saturday night alleging that Cal State Northridge men’s basketball Coach Bobby Braswell shoved a Cal State Fullerton student during halftime of the Matadors’ 73-59 victory at Fullerton.

A spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s office said it has not received the report from the Fullerton university police.

In the report, Braswell is alleged to have pushed Kevin Jacks while Jacks was being escorted out of the gymnasium by two officers. Braswell acknowledged there was contact made between him and Jacks, but that the student initiated the contact. The Northridge coach said he was upset because Jacks threw a towel that hit him in the face as he walked to the locker room.

“There was some physical contact made with me,†Braswell said Wednesday. “I’m only going to take so much. I’ve been [coaching] long enough to understand there’s always going to be verbal abuse.

†... He yelled out, ‘Hey, Coach,’ and I turned my head and the towel hit me right in the face.â€

Jacks, a 20-year-old junior at Fullerton, admitted he had been taunting Matador players as they came off the court. He said he threw a towel in response to a player throwing the same towel at him.
