Mayor Says Assault Was Politically Motivated
From Times Wire Reports
A small mountain town’s stripper-turned-mayor said an attack that left her with scratches on her arms and neck was politically motivated.
Koleen Brooks of Georgetown was assaulted Saturday night while walking home from the beauty salon where she works. She said she believed a man attacked her with barbed wire but didn’t get a good look at him.
Brooks was elected in April as mayor of the town of 1,100 about 40 miles west of Denver. Since then she has come under fire and faces a recall election in April.
