A Buena High School custodian was arrested Friday at the Ventura school on suspicion of possessing child pornography.
John Gomez Ruiz, 41, was taken into custody after detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department searched his Saticoy home and his school work station. Detectives said they found evidence of child pornography at the home. They discovered adult pornography and suspected illegal drugs at his school work station, authorities said.
Ventura Unified School District Supt. Trudy Tuttle Arriaga issued a statement saying it was the first the district had heard of the custodian’s alleged activities and that there is no indication any students were involved.
Ruiz was placed on administrative leave while the district and police investigate the case, Arriaga said.
