About the Boy

Regarding Robert Hilburn’s prognostications for the future (“Rock’s Bright New Day,” Dec. 22), what ever happened to Badly Drawn Boy? Damon Gough delivered not one but two great albums in 2002. The first, “About A Boy,” was a bold step for the relatively unknown British songwriter (my choice for movie soundtrack of the year). The second, “Have You Fed The Fish?,” is a thoughtful, personal, melodic and intelligent statement. How many others on Hilburn’s list can lay claim to that quality output?
And gee, two years ago I discovered Badly Drawn Boy because of a great interview conducted by one Robert Hilburn. How easily one forgets, huh Bob?
